Holy Smokes BBQ in Island of Hawaii

My wife and I drove a semi for 17 years and had ribs from all over the country. We love our ribs and when I say all over the country I mean exactly that......... I'm talkin a Bunch. Now I consider myself a babyback rib expert...... And I am,so what's the point in eating out when at home just to be disappointed. Last night (Valentine's day) I took a chance after reading some of the comments. HOLY SMOKES!!!!!! This place is not just a barbeque joint, it's a treasure...... Absolutely the best we've ever had anywhere. Don't forget the beans tater salad and all of the sides.....OMG the coleslaw.LIVE LONG AND PROSPER.

I used to run delivery/catering management and drivers always forget the drinks. Yes your driver forgot my drink but he was so pleasant and brought my drink back in no time with a smile and another apology. So I give the food and the driver kudos

I had a pulled pork sandwich with bbq beans, and that meat was the most tender pork I have ever had at any restaurant. The sauces were also very nice. Beans were great, and the staff is very friendly

Delicious everything! Very generous portions and incredible brisket and jalapeno sausage. The staff was friendly and sincere. I wish we lived there so we could eat at this place all the time!

The food was very good! Maybe a little Improvement on the inside the restaurant, Remodeling and a little fixup.

It was just okay. Got the pulled pork sandwich. Didn't come with anything but a pickle. I ordered a side of mac and cheese that looked like soup. Never had runny mac and cheese before. Waitress served me and I never saw her again until I left. She was outside smoking and talking in her phone.

The brisket was dry the pork was nothing but fat the beans had chuncks of fat in them the coleslaw was dry. Even the root beer was gross. The best part was the pickles that came out of the jar. Very thrown off first time dining in my work gets their food catered all the time and its always good. Not to mention they want you to wear a mask but the people chopping the meat and working the counter didn't have theirs on.

The bbq itself is good. But I dont care for the sides. Not good flavor.

Friendly prompt service. Really good pricing for high quality barbecue. And the food came out fast. I’m traveling thru motorcycling. I eat one meal a day and I chose this one! What a feast. I got the 3 meat combo so I could try the breadth of their offerings - each was terrific. If they were open Sundays I’d eat there again tomorrow. On arrival I was greeted with a friendly smile and invited to a table. My 1/2 sweet tea 1/2 unsweetened tea was promptly delivered and then topped off correctly the rest of my visit. The meat was tender and tasty. The sauces sweet and I even dipped my sausage in them they were so good. (-:Recommended!

Went & picked up a take out order a little while ago, got a big meal since there was 4 of us eating on it, got home & pulled everything out & the sides were BARELY big enough to feed us. The food was good but the size of the sides for the meal that we got was VERY disappointing

I was there on 16th of July got plastic an ice cold mac an cheese comforted the little guy that called his self a manager an he told me it wasn't his fault.Will never eat there again

Everything they make is delicious! The chicken is juicy and drizzled in a sweet glaze. The brisket falls apart and even the fat on it melts into nothing when you eat it. This place is an 11 out of 10. The staff are all friendly and amazing. They love people from out of state and will help you decipher anything on the menu you may be thinking about. Absolutely recommend. We visit Mountain Home just for the BBQ!

We were looking for a good place to eat and had stopped for gas, and I happened to find this place by looking up places to eat near by. We were so happy with this place, we are from Texas and didn't expect to find such an awesome place with the most delicious bbq EVER! We still talk about this place to people at home! We wished we lived closer, but we will come back when we venture out on vacation again for sure!!

The meat was good. There were no vegetables on the menu and the sides were not very good.The service was fast and the waitress did a good job.

The food is so yummy. There is a variety on the menu of sides, meats, salads and desserts. Food is good and the people are generous and friendly. Holy Smokes supports charity events and has even donated food to be delivered to people during the Covid19 quarantine. God Bless them.

Great place no complaints. Foods amazing! I don't know how either... Seems perhaps half the town is staffed there always a new face dish in out that bbq, but damn their good!

Their BBQ is amazing!!! We had a large party of 10, they made accommodations soon as we walked in. We'll have to go back sometime as they were out of smoked mac n cheese ☹️. I had the BBQ loaded potato (smoked potato), was delicious!!! Everyone in our party thought the food was great!!! If you're going to go, go early their food is awesome and they do run out of stuff, smoked mac n cheese, ham, and sausages when we were there. No worries food was excellent!!! Reasonable prices, Very friendly staff!!!

Had the 1 lb pulled pork to go. Owner is very friendly with the staff as well. Great smoked taste and BBQ sauce is awesome, and will be back many times, great for the lake or anything you're doing.

Me and my wife have been eating here regularly for about 3 moths now.The food is consistent and tasty,Potato salad is the best around,OMG pastrami !, Very friendly staff that goes over the top for it's customers.Clean, pleasant atmosphere suitable for everything from family dinners to first dates.Very good portions for the price.My only thing not top shelf here is the BBQ sauce choices, nothing these days is perfect but this place is pretty close.

Very little dine in business, line is usually a couple of customers deep to place your order because the ribs are that good. If you having a party call them before hand. They also cater.

service was great, potato salad was great. beans a little better than good. chopped beef was a little less quality than what i like. still it was edible. price was bout 14 dollars for 2 plates worth. 25 for family pack. so ok. pretty good

I was just there on 7/9/2020. Food was good although small portions. Some little girl behind the line had an attitude about Masks. I probably wont go back. I dont do attitude.

Half a mile from my house. These guys are famous. Never seen anyone do bbq and sides better. Listen for them on local radio they always seem to have some thing going on.

What can I say about this place?? The food is divine, the staff is AMAZING, the cooks always on point, the atmosphere is always warm and friendly, dare I say family-like! Its always clean and bathrooms are always well stocked and clean. Definitely two thumbs WAY up! P.S. Try the ribs, to-die-for!!!

HOLY SMOKES BATMAN!!! That was good bbq! I had brisket and sausage! Yum yum yum!!!! I wish I could give more stars!!! I will definitely be back! I have ate a lot of bbq in Arkansas that wasn’t worth eating or was just ok.. ...but This was lip smacking good!

We got many recommendations for this place. We drove for an hour to get there and we were not disappointed. The interior is not super fancy but the food is REALLY good. The server was the best. She was so sweet and attentive and engaged us in friendly banter. The smoked mac and cheese was wonderful and i also had the smoked sweet corn. We will be back.
